Three metaphorical muddles some groups experience

A muddle about church and small groups
If we ask the Bible to identify two or three metaphors for understanding the identity of the church, what comes to mind?
Citizens of another country, waiting to go home? Why does who we are matter as we meet in our small groups?

A muddle about the Bible in small groups
If we ask each other, “What is the Bible?”
How do you respond?
If we ask each other, “What does the Bible itself say about what it is?”
How do you reply?
A scalpel?

A muddle about reading in small groups
Is reading God’s word mainly a science or mostly an art?
Or something quite different?
How do you express your underlying vision of the style of reading that you are encouraging in the small groups? Is it anything like a dog chewing on a bone?
